First Friday Art Walk – Special Garden Show May 3rd

First Friday May 3rd at Aurora Gallery we celebrate spring and all things “Garden” by holding a special event featuring garden art, flowers, patio candles and paintings that can be hung outdoors! Joining us will be Amour Mercantile (right next door at 1006 Main Street)

Our special guest will be Kristen Proper with her line of Fired Works for the Garden. Anna Steinbaugh with her patio CANdles made from recycled cans. Jill Baer and her ceramic wind chimes. We will have a beautiful array of floral art for the home as well by participating gallery Artists.

Next door two steps away Yessica Designs and Gifts from the Earth as well as Diana Fields with her Garden Glass Delights.

Clare Burch at Mercantile has been busy gathering planting tables, bird houses. and benches for the yard and garden, all hand made one of a kind and ready to go home to your yard and garden.

Join us on First Friday May 3rd starting at 6pm for the monthly art walk. Always fun, always free and family friendly.

March Show and First Friday: Abstract Works

Aurora Gallery is presenting works by 30 artists in the March show featuring a wide assortment of abstract paintings.

Pictured above: Barbara Szkutnik’s new work in pastel and Barbara Kaempf Matkowski’s large mixed media abstracts on wood panels.

Abstracts come in many forms, they can resemble a landscape, object or figure. It can be made of found objects or it can be photography distorted in a computer program. The abstract s media and composition is varied.

The Abstract Show opens March 1, 2013 and will run until March 30th 2013.
Join us for First Friday Art Walk on March 1st from 5 – 9 pm.

Aurora Gallery hours are M-F 10 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.

October’s Featured Artist: Bev Jozwiak

First Friday Art Walk kicks off on October 5th 2012, featuring an artist reception for Bev Jozwiak at the Aurora Gallery.

We are pleased to welcome Bev Jozwiak to Aurora Gallery for a one-woman show, running through the month of October.

Bev’s watercolor and acrylic paintings are a local favorite, as Bev has been painting and showing her art locally for the past 30 years. Bev calls Vancouver home and paints from her home studio where she works daily as a full-time artist. Her humorous crows are sure to get a smile, but her ballerinas and children in different ethnic settings are her specialty. Her recent Chefs at Work pieces are a new favorite of her collectors.

Please join us for the First Friday art walk and “meet the artist” reception with live music and refreshments on October 5th from 5-9 pm. First Friday Art Walk is a fun FREE event for the whole family and it happens every First Friday, all year long.
